A little more than a year later in November 1994, the Coming Soon Magazine published its first issue. This time, instead of just containing the NEWREL list, it also contained game reviews, previews, adverts, screenshots, and was distributed around the world in the form of a compressed file on Bulletin Board Services and also in the GAMERS forum on CompuServe (GO GAMERS). For the third issue a DOS program was written to control the magazine making it easier to view the articles within it.
In June 1995, the Megatoon Entertainment Group offered us a spot to place our magazine on the internet via ftp and the World Wide Web. This has given our magazine an even greater availability to the world than ever before. It also allows us to incorporate the screenshots within the articles and to design a much nicer looking magazine.
On March 8th, 1996, Coming Soon Magazine (CSM) established an office and incorporated within the state of Vermont. CSM has been listed as one of the top 2000 sites on the Internet by the Whole Internet Catalog Select. A publication called "Internet Now" that features 250 web sites includes a page about Coming Soon Magazine and is distributed in the United Kingdom and the United States.
On July 19th, 1996, CSM was named a "Selected Site" by EyeOnTheWeb's Site Selection Team. Their selections are from among thousands of Websites, and are based on content, usability, and design.
CSM has now started an Advertising program to support our efforts.
Our monthly publication dates start on the 15th of each month. This means that the next month's issue will begin two weeks prior to that month. For example, the September 96 issue will start on the 16th of August and be completed on the 15th of October.
That's a little history about the Coming Soon Magazine.
