Arnowitz Studios's Daring to Fly is one of the most beautiful multimedia titles I have ever reviewed. The design is great and mixes an original interface with hand-painted backgrounds of the nicest quality. It looks like a book on the screen and is something you really have to try.
Daring to Fly explains the fascination humans have for flying. Going back through time, you will discover how they imagined to fly like birds and how through repetitive attempts, they finally achieved their dreams.
Over 47 minutes of historical video clips retrace the epic history of the pioneers who designed step by step what modern aviation is today. The program comes with more than 2 hours of sounds and narration to deliver a real multimedia experience along with hundreds of illustrations and photographs.
Daring to Fly is also innovative by the way it can be used. You can choose to access exhibits containing a wide choice of topics or to read the libraries for complete information.
If you prefer to be guided, Daring to Fly will provide you with eight interactive tours through the multimedia exhibits. There are also stories about specific topics like myths and legends for example, with a combination of pictures, texts and movies.
In the kid's corner, children will learn about how planes fly or what changes need to be made so that a pig can fly. Other possibilities are the Explore Space and the Plane Gallery. The first one will allow you to access multimedia snapshots in a scrolling time line of aviation history while the second one will give you details about the first planes.
