"Stratosphere" to take gamers to new heights

Santa Clara, CA, January 12, 1998 -- Ripcord Games today announced it has acquired worldwide distribution and publishing rights to Sculptured Software Studios' high-flying, action/strategy title - Stratosphere.

Slated for shipment in March, Stratosphere comes from recently formed Sculptured Studios which is lead by veteran game developer George Metos. Project team leaders, Chris Shen and Adam Clayton have worked on such successful game titles like Aces over Europe, Mortal Kombat, Jurassic Park and NCAA Basketball.

"Ripcord Games is excited about working with the creative minds of Sculptured Software Studios," said Lou Viveros, executive producer of Ripcord Games. "We look forward to a long and mutually profitable relationship."

"We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a prestigious publishing partner on our first new title from the studio," said George Metos, president of Sculptured Software Studios. "Ripcord Games is a very powerful new competitor in the entertainment software publishing world and we know they will do a tremendous job of marketing and distributing this unique title."

Stratosphere will take gamers into an immersive 3-D world where they construct a ship on a unique substance called "floatstone" - a type of rock that repels gravity.

Once a ship is built, gamers can choose to play against the computer in one of 24 challenging missions or play against up to three other gamers via the Internet or a local network.

Stratosphere will be available on CD-ROM for Windows 95 in March 1998.
