NEW TITLES EXTEND POPULAR GAME BRANDS

Redmond, WA, January 27th, 1998 -- Microsoft today announced two new games that build upon the company's successful lineup of titles, Monster Truck Madness 2 and Microsoft Golf 1998 Edition. Both games will be released this spring.

Monster Truck Madness 2 is the sequel to Monster Truck Madness, the #3 best-selling game from December 1996 to November 1997. Monster Truck Madness 2 builds upon the successes of its predecessor, but promises to deliver even more down & dirty racing fun. The game's new, spectacular 3D graphics engine makes 12 new tracks, nine new trucks and dynamic scenery come to life. Monster Truck Madness 2 utilizes the latest 3D effects, making use of the most advanced accelerated hardware and processor technology, including AGP. Other changes include night driving; variable weather (rain, snow and ice racing); force feedback joystick and wheel support; and deformable trucks that crush when damaged. Racers will also be able to compete against each other free online, via Microsoft's Internet Gaming Zone.

Microsoft Golf 1998 Edition, the newest version of the best-selling golf game for Windows, offers the most enjoyable and true-to-life golf experience available for the PC. Fluid and realistic game graphics, beautifully rendered courses, and accurate ball physics recreate the feel of a real round of golf. Microsoft Golf 1998 Edition features three of North America's best-known and most-challenging courses, including Teeth of the Dog and the Links at Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic and Bay Harbor on the shores of Lake Michigan. Game-play options include Match Play, Best Ball, Skins, Bingo-Bango-Bongo, Scramble and more. Each course offers 3-D fly-throughs with expert commentary. Microsoft Golf 1998 Edition will be fully multiplayer-capable via the Microsoft Internet Gaming Zone so Internet players can partner or compete against others of similar skill levels at no additional charge.
