Third Installment in Popular Series Takes Adventure Gaming to a New Level with Industry's Finest Pre-Rendered 3D Animation, 360-Degree Panoramic Viewpoint, Integrated Puzzles and an Engaging Storyline

Novato, CA, October 28, 1997 -- The past lies in ruins. Now the future is at stake. Travel through the channels of time and navigate your way through forgotten civilizations in The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time. Developed by Presto Studios, and published by Red Orb Entertainment, a division of Broderbund Software (NASDAQ: BROD), Legacy of Time is scheduled for a January 1998 release on four CD-ROMs for PC and Macintosh for a suggested retail price of $49.95.

The highly anticipated third installment of the popular Journeyman series has you continuing the adventures of Gage Blackwood, Agent 5 of the Temporal Security Agency (TSA), a secret government body responsible for protecting history by controlling time travel activity. As Blackwood, you are in pursuit of the rogue Agent 3, a fugitive colleague who framed you for crimes you did not commit in The Journeyman Project 2: Buried In Time. Your pursuit leads you to the lost civilizations of Shangri-La, El Dorado and Atlantis, where you uncover the secrets of the Earth's past, as well as the menacing plan of an alien race to destroy it.

Advancing the qualities that gamers embraced in the previous Journeyman products, Legacy of Time adds new elements that advance the series, as well the adventure game genre. For the first time, you don a time travel suit that allows you to assume the images of other characters encountered throughout your journeys. This Chameleon Jumpsuit enables you to take on the roles of different characters in order to extract information needed to solve a series of intricate puzzles integrated into the storyline.

"We've taken a new approach to adventure gaming with Legacy of Time," said Ken Goldstein, vice president and general manager of Red Orb Entertainment. "The challenge for players to take on multiple character roles in order to solve the integrated puzzles is a unique twist to the genre. This game combines Presto's signature photo-realistic graphics, which we feel are among the best in the industry, with great gameplay - an element that most adventure games typically lack."

"With Legacy of Time we were able to up the ante in the adventure genre, by taking the best elements from The Journeyman Project and Buried in Time, and expand on them," said Michel Kripalani, president and CEO of Presto Studios. "New aspects like the Chameleon Jumpsuit, character interaction, full panoramic viewpoint, larger window size and a much more intuitive interface allow players to feel like they are a part of the game, and not just an outsider looking in."

Among the industry's finest pre-rendered graphics, Legacy of Time features technical advancements including a full, 360-degree spherical panoramic viewpoint to immerse players into each environment, and a much more intuitive interface with a significantly larger window size. When weaved together with an engaging sci-fi storyline, challenging puzzles, non-interactive sequences featuring Screen Actor's Guild talent and an original musical score, Legacy of Time is able to deliver a complete gaming experience.

An interactive demo of Legacy of Time is included on Riven: The Sequel to Myst, which releases October 31. By including an interactive demo on the sequel to best-selling game of all time, Red Orb is capturing an unprecedented opportunity to introduce Legacy of Time to millions of adventure game players worldwide.
