If you are keen about video games (which is surely the case!), you must have seen all kinds of them, from adventure games to strategic games or simply those from the arcade. Nevertheless, the principle of this game is, slightly different, and the title "Voyeur" could have one thing that it is something more or less erotic, but even if this is not the case, it remains rather immoral.
In effect, your role is not the most recommendable. In order to discover what is going on in Hawke's manor, situated just in front of your own place, you will not have any misgivings about using a telescope to spy and gather, if possible, evidence about what is going on over there.
The owner of the manor, Reed Hawke, president of Hawke Industries, has decided to be a candidate in the next presidential elections of the United States. To announce his candidature to his close relatives, he has invited all the members of his family over for the weekend, not knowing that some of them do not wish to see him become president. One of them is even prepared to reveal a sinister family secret which can jeopardize and even destroy any possible careers. Hawke will do everything within his power to make sure no one talks, and you risk being the only witness to the crime.
Still, let us not get ahead of ourselves, suspects are not only the criminals and it is up to you to discover the true identity of the killer. To do this you possess a camerascope equipped with a telephoto lens which permits you to automatically record all the scenes and evidence you find. As you focus your objective lens on each window of the manor, the cursor will change to indicate what type of activity is taking place at that moment in the room. An eye indicates a video scene, an ear indicates an audio scene, and a magnifying glass means that evidence is available. The video scenes are very realistic and well produced, giving the player more joy and establishing an even greater atmosphere of a political thriller.
All throughout the game, you have the possibility to watch what you have recorded on the video tape using your VCR. You can also, at any moment, call the police to reveal to them what you have seen. A detective will then come to see you and ask to see your video tape. If it does not contain enough evidence to expose Hawke's criminal intentions, the detective will tell you and you will be ignored. If the contrary is true, congratulations!
On the other hand, your role is also to try and save a member of the family who is in danger. In order to accomplish this, it is possible for you to send the video tape containing the scene which announces the imminent danger to the right person. That person could then try to escape in time and expose Hawke's evil intentions. If you end up sending the video to the wrong person, be prepared for the worst.
In each game of "Voyeur", a different member of the family will try to betray Hawke, and you will have to play many times to see all the schemes and traps. Good luck and do not get caught!
