The Most Anticipated Software Game of 1997 Expected Next Month

Novato, CA, September 16, 1997 -- What's left to say about the sequel to the best selling computer game of all time? When? The Red Orb Entertainment Division of Broderbund Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:BROD) today announced that Riven, the Sequel to Myst, the much-anticipated follow-up to the blockbuster that revolutionized entertainment software, is expected to be available in stores October 31, 1997. The title will be available at both domestic and international retail outlets.

"Myst has enjoyed the longest run on the Top 10 best seller list of any software game," said Ann Stephens, president of PC Data. "It has been on the list continuously for more than three years, which is truly a phenomenon."

We have shared the excitement and impatience of the 3.5 million Myst customers while waiting for the sequel. Riven is more than worth the wait."

Riven: The Sequel to Myst, will be available for both the Windows 95/Pentium and Macintosh/PowerPC platforms. Both versions are expected to be in stores by October 31, 1997.
