New video poker games to debut on PC before hitting the Vegas strip
Irvine, CA, August 20, 1997 -- This fall, gambling on the PC will have
a new look. Beat the House 2, the highly anticipated sequel to
Interplay Production's best
selling Beat the House, will contain more of everyone's favorite
gambling games plus some new, exciting, and unique ones. In typical
Interplay fashion, Beat the House 2 will debut a new set of addicting
video poker games, "Poker Challenge," before they hit the casinos. Created
by David Sklansky, professional poker player, author, and casino consultant,
these four new games play more like table poker than traditional video poker
games. Beat the House 2 will also feature additional slot machines
including the world's first "Football" slot machine, video poker machines,
and newly added mini-baccarat, while still including old favorites such as
craps, roulette, and blackjack.
In addition to the new games, Interplay has also added a new statistical
analysis feature which will show the player their statistics for each game
for a specified period of time; meaning the player will be able to track all
winnings, losses, etc. for a month, a year, or for however long the gamer
chooses. Gamers can play and play without the risk or fear of damaging their
bank accounts!
"It's a pleasure to give our audience more of the casino games they
have been asking for," remarked Interplay producer, Alan Emrich. "And
when they get as hooked as I have on those fantastic `Poker Challenge'
games from poker guru David Sklansky, the other casino packages will
stay on the shelf for good. We're even beating Vegas to the punch with
these games, and they're great!"
There will be a total of six slot machines including a "nudge" machine,
"Spin `Til You Win," and a newly designed "Football" slot machine, among
others. The four video poker machines will include "Deuces Wild," "Joker's
Wild," "10's or Better," and "Jack's or Better." The "Poker Challenge" video
poker games will include two 7-Card Stud style games, "Stud Challenge" and
"Double Stud Challenge," and two Hold 'Em style games, "Hold 'Em Challenge"
and "Double Hold 'Em Challenge."
Now in 16-bit color, Beat the House 2 will feature crisp graphics,
including an improved, user-friendly interface that is extremely accessible
and quick, making every bet, roll, deal, and spin a quick click away.
Players will also have the choice to use the "coaching" feature that will
automatically display advice boxes during gameplay to aid players in each
game. New items such as a scorecard (Mini-Baccarat) and a "speed bet" option
will also be at the gamer's fingertips making gameplay fast and furious,
bringing the excitement and high-rolling action of Vegas into the home.
Avery Cardoza, one of the foremost recognized gambling authorities will
include a new edition of his Beat the House Companion book with Beat the
House 2. Containing rules, terminology and advice for the novice
gamblers and tips for the more seasoned gamblers, Beat the House 2
will appeal to all levels of gambling enthusiasts.
Beat the House 2 will be available from Interplay Productions for
Windows 95 based PC's and 100% compatibles in October 1997.
