Grand Prix II and Sid Meier's Civilization II Still Chart-ToppersMaster of Orion II: Battle at Antares has mastered and will be on retailers' shelves in the U.S. prior to the Thanksgiving weekend. Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares was just named the Number One Strategy Game in Computer Gaming World's Holiday Hot 100 List's December 1996 issue. The preview says, "As a single player game, this is the ultimate in expansive god games, and with added multi-player gaming, it becomes a truly addictive gaming experience that will steal your every waking moment just as surely as Civilization II has." Sid Meier's Civilization II Scenarios , has shipped 80,000 units in the U.S. since its launch the second week of November. Shipping last week in the UK was the "Collector's Edition," a bundle including Sid Meier's Civilization II Scenarios and Sid Meier's Civilization II. Sid Meier's Civilization II Scenarios is scheduled to ship in the rest of Europe for the holidays. Grand Prix Manager II, a sequel to Grand Prix Manager, has mastered and is to planned ship in Europe for the holidays. The company's goal is to ship Master of Orion II: Battle at Antares in the UK concurrent with the U.S. ship. MicroProse has a broad line of successfully branded products it is currently selling as well as a number of highly-anticipated sequels, add-ons and on-line versions in the pipeline. Grand Prix II's continued success is demonstrated by having shipped in excess of 700,000 pieces worldwide since its launch in July 1996. Grand Prix II has already shipped over 100,000 units in October and the first half of November. Sid Meier's Civilization II, released in March 1996, has shipped over 655,000 units. Praise has come from customers and media alike. The game continues to rank very high in Computer Gaming World's subscriber poll.
