Navy Strike is a strategy game which features resource management, mission planning and execution, a game of Task Force Command set in modern play. The East is no longer a threat for the West and the only remaining conflicts in the world are the civil unrests and dictators invading neighboring countries. As a commander of the Task Force, you will have to deal with threats like another invasion of Kuwait by Iraq, policing trouble spots around Libya, and more.
You are responsible for the Task Force that includes Aircraft Carriers, Battleships, Heavy Cruisers, etc...as well as the Air Wing aboard carriers. If you wish to fly the missions, three aircraft are available: the F-22 fighter, the A-12 bomber and the FA-18 Hornet.
You can start the game directly by an 'Alert 5' scramble option that puts you in the air (right after a quick briefing) or choose the command option that brings you within the Operation Room. There, you will be able to access all incoming information and create the appropriate missions, select and arm aircarfts, etc.. all in real time!
There is always the possibility to switch from the command position to the Alert 5 option, if you prefer to fly manually to complete a difficult mission. The game uses the mouse while in the command option, and joystick or keyboard in the Alert 5 option. Three levels of map views are provided as well as an on-line help, and a windowing system allows the player to watch actions and information at the same time.
Hopefully, the game will support all major sound cards.
