Operation JumpGate is the first data disk for Shock Wave. After the alien invasion was finally stopped, Earth started the reconstruction of what the terrible war left behind.

In hopes to prevent any new disasters, steps have been taken by the United Nations to reinforce the U.N.S. Omaha.

Seven years pass when one day, a probes detected an alien presence on Mars. The admiral decided to send an offensive and destroy the new threat before it reaches Earth again.

The data disk brings five new missions to the original game with new textures and new aliens. The ground looks even more realistic and the vessels are better designed and rendered. The first thing you will notice is the apparent difficulty. It is not easy at all to pass the first level! You will need a lot of practice to pass through the enemy lines, but once you acquire some tactics, it will provide you with a lot of excitement.

As the first episode, there is a lot of video footage of great quality that is convincing unlike many others. It is a plus and everyone will appreciate it.

Conclusion:

If you liked Shock Wave, you will love the data disk, Operation JumpGate. The only thing we could argue is the number of missions. Five is a bit too short.
