July 2, 1996, San Francisco, CA -- Eidos Interactive, a developer and publisher of Interactive entertainment software for the PC, Macintosh, Internet and next generation gaming platforms, announced today the forthcoming release of its officially licensed PC sports titles - Olympic Summer Games and Olympic Soccer. Both titles will be compiled into one package and sold at a competitive price with plans to hit retailers' shelves at the peak and excitement surrounding this summer's, Atlanta 1996 Centennial Olympic Games.

Olympic Summer Games is a cutting-edge, multi-sport title that combines many games into one. Designed to look and feel exactly like the intense competition you will see on your television during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Olympic Summer Games contains fifteen adrenaline-pumping events taking place in a variety of venues. Events include track and field, swimming, fencing, archery, weight lifting and shooting. Within the track and field events, players can compete in the 100M, 400M, pole vault, high jump, discus, javelin, long jump, triple jump and the hammer throw.

Players go head-to-head in real time action inside 3D rendered, texture-mapped stadiums and gymnasiums. In addition, each athlete is 3D rendered to provide fluid and realistic movement down to the last detail. You can even see athletes fidget before the start of an event! Gamers also have the choice of competing in the three different modes of play: Full Olympic Tournament, Arcade and Challenge.

Olympic Soccer takes the excitement of the world's most popular sport, combines it with the competitive intensity of the Olympic Games and packages it in one incredibly detailed game. This title consists of 32 international teams made up of the best soccer players in the world, all competing for the coveted gold medal.

The 3D rendered backgrounds combined with polygon-based character graphics make Olympic Soccer a true 3D experience. The movement of each athlete is fluid and fast, including special moves such as bicycle kicks, chest stops, diving headers, multiple fakes, and banana kicks. Olympic Soccer allows players to compete in three modes of play: Exhibition, Arcade and the Full Olympic Tournament.

"This marks the third Olympic license that we've obtained. After releasing Olympic Gold: Barcelona '92 and Winter Olympic Games: Lillehammer '94 we're excited about the quality of product that's been developed for the '96 games." commented Dominic Wheatley, CEO of Eidos Interactive.

"Olympic Summer Games and Olympic Soccer take full advantage of the advanced graphics and sound capabilities of the new state-of-the-art hardware delivering a ground-breaking game play experience," commented John Kavanagh, VP of Development for Eidos Interactive.

The Olympic Summer Games and Olympic Soccer combination pack will be distributed in North America by Eidos Interactive.
